Ecommerce Site Merchandising Senior Manager

Position Overview:
Our client, a prominent player in the retail and ecommerce sector, is in search of a Senior Manager of Site Merchandising for their Ecommerce Site Operations. This pivotal leadership position is essential in enhancing the customer experience on the website for a specific department within the Strategic Business Units (SBUs). The role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including visual merchandising, content strategy, functionality, and campaign planning and execution at the departmental level. The Senior Manager will spearhead initiatives aimed at driving impact, fostering improvement, and introducing innovative solutions to ensure a seamless online shopping journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish trust swiftly and lead through influence, generating impact via collaboration and ownership.
- Design an outstanding site experience tailored to your department.
- Leverage customer insights to craft a unified narrative and deliver a cohesive customer journey, overseeing visual merchandising, content strategy, site functionality, and new product onboarding.
- Identify significant trend forecasts, articulate the department's storytelling roadmap, and utilize key functionalities such as taxonomy and search to enrich the customer journey.
- Monitor site performance and health through analytics and key performance indicators.
- Manage the creation of site metrics and dashboards to assess site health, providing strategic insights to internal stakeholders to guide the overall site direction.
- Act as a crucial strategic partner to internal teams; collaborate with various departments to enhance processes, identify opportunities, and scale best practices.
- Exhibit operational excellence; implement best-in-class workflows, processes, and timelines, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in Merchandising, Site Merchandising, or a related discipline.
- A Master's degree in Business or a related field is advantageous.
- 4+ years of demonstrated experience in team management.
- 4+ years of experience in a consumer-focused ecommerce environment.
- Strong customer-centric approach focused on optimizing the site experience.
- Analytical mindset with a process-oriented approach, comfortable making data-driven decisions.
- Ability to establish clear team objectives and performance metrics.
- Proven capability to select and nurture future leaders within the team.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Assertive, adaptable, and proactive in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
