This role involves collaboration with senior leadership and encourages the exchange of ideas and expertise across different business units. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze extensive datasets and apply statistical methods to uncover patterns and trends affecting insurance and reinsurance credit risk.

Develop, update, monitor, and enhance internal risk models that assess credit risk.

Critically evaluate, oversee, and expand external risk models utilized within the organization that analyze credit risk.

Design, create, and refine insurance pricing and cash flow models.

Advocate for capital allocation strategies that align with internal risk perspectives while complying with regulatory requirements.

Interpret stochastic modeling frameworks and their associated probability distributions.

Conduct stress testing to meet internal and regulatory standards, evaluating correlations between risk exposures.

Engage with external entities and conduct independent research to adopt industry-standard methodologies and foster innovative improvements to our risk models.

Perform scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and what-if analysis to evaluate the potential impact of assumptions on insurance portfolios.

Provide oversight, review, and constructive challenge of credit risk activities across the organization.

Summarize and present analyses of modeled performance and financial outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Draft technical documentation that outlines the risks, limitations, and appropriate confidence levels associated with modeled results.

Collaborate with clients to gather essential credit information and engage with various internal stakeholders, including teams in Risk, Finance, Operations, and IT, to enhance understanding of models and their implications.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Actuarial Sciences.

7+ years of relevant experience in analyzing economic or financial data.

Experience with financial cash flows and metrics such as return on equity.

Familiarity with capital modeling across diverse lines of insurance and reinsurance.

Ability to independently assess, draw conclusions, and present findings.

Experience in mortgage insurance and reinsurance.

Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills to work effectively at all organizational levels.

Proven ability to take full ownership of projects in a results-driven environment.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using SQL and Excel or programming languages such as Python, R, or SAS.

Experience in insurance or reinsurance pricing, focusing on developing and implementing effective pricing strategies.

Experience working with multiple asset classes.

Background in underwriting for insurance or reinsurance.

Experience related to structured transactions.
