Position Overview
This role is focused on cultivating profitable relationships with national clients to achieve and surpass annual financial objectives. The successful candidate will devise customer growth strategies that encompass a 2-3 year planning and selling cycle. Travel requirements are estimated at 50-60%.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed assigned sales quotas by brand and overall for each customer and territory.
- Establish strong business relationships with key accounts, engaging with personnel above the buyer level to develop Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with high-volume customers.
- Proactively solicit orders from existing and potential new direct accounts for our complete product line.
- Effectively manage account assignments to ensure appropriate quality and frequency of coverage.
- Collaborate with the Regional Sales Director and Sales team to ensure comprehensive account coverage.
- Timely completion of contribution reports, RFQs, and pricing updates.
- Engage with all levels of assigned accounts across various departments (e.g., buying, logistics, service, and replenishment).
- Monitor and resolve all sales-related customer deductions promptly.
- Authorize returned goods in line with company policy.
- Develop sales forecasts by account and brand.
- Operate within assigned selling expenses and trade budgets.
- Prepare and submit proposals for special trade programs at selected accounts as needed.
- Ensure accurate pricing at all accounts and follow up on overdue payments as necessary.
- Maintain current customer records in accordance with company guidelines.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management on competitive products and merchandising practices.
- Prepare and submit call and expense reports as required.
- Provide special reports regarding territory operations, product acceptance, or competitive conditions as requested, including account-level POS information.
- Recommend the addition of new products and modifications to existing products as appropriate.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the proactive packaging steel/metals and stretch films industry is required. Experience selling to steel and metals service centers is essential. Must be able to travel 50% - 60% and reside near a major airport.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Regular tasks may involve reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, and using hands for various functions. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and varying temperatures may occur. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required as needed.
