Position Overview

Skyworks, a frontrunner in high-performance analog/digital and RF semiconductors, acoustic filters, and ultra-dense System in Package (SiP) solutions, is on the lookout for a skilled RF SiP Power Amplifier Design Engineer. As a key member of the Module Design Team, you will be instrumental in crafting innovative, state-of-the-art power amplifiers (PAs), RF switches, low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), and front-end modules tailored for automotive and IoT applications. Our mission is to facilitate the industry's shift towards the next generation of data superhighways.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Engineer RF power amplifiers and associated circuits for wireless applications utilizing technologies such as GaAs, GaN, SOI, or SiGe.
  2. Perform laboratory testing and characterization of highly integrated RF System in Package solutions.
  3. Assume hands-on design responsibilities, including overseeing detailed IC layout, lab evaluations, and design refinements.
  4. Conduct comprehensive design reviews encompassing all facets: IC, package, electromagnetic (EM), and thermal considerations.
  5. Effectively communicate with colleagues at all organizational levels, showcasing problem-solving abilities, data analysis, and critical thinking.
  6. Support all phases of product development, from initial concept through to mass production.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 12 years of industry experience or a combination of equivalent post-graduate academic experience (Master's or Ph.D.).
  3. In-depth knowledge of power amplifiers, including operational modes, matching, biasing, and architectural considerations.
  4. Experience with IC tape-outs in Silicon, GaAs HBT, GaN, or other relevant semiconductor technologies.
  5. Proficiency in electromagnetic (EM) principles, including passive components such as couplers, baluns, and matching networks.
  6. Expertise in Keysight ADS, Cadence, and related simulation tools and data visualization.
  7. Familiarity with EM simulation tools such as Momentum, HFSS, and EMX.
  8. Comfort with modern scripting or programming languages is advantageous.
  9. Solid understanding of RF systems and familiarity with wireless standards, including 3GPP cellular (2G/3G/4G/5G/6G), WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and more.
  10. Experience in FEM product development and customer engagement.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $136,800 - $271,500 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
