Position OverviewWe are seeking a proficient RF SiP Power Amplifier Design Engineer to contribute to our Module Design Team. This role is pivotal in the creation of advanced power amplifiers (PAs), RF switches, low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), and front-end modules tailored for automotive and IoT sectors. Our mission is to facilitate the industry's shift towards next-generation data highways.
Key Responsibilities- Engineer RF power amplifiers and associated circuitry for wireless technologies utilizing materials such as GaAs, GaN, SOI, or SiGe.
- Perform laboratory testing and characterization of integrated RF System in Package solutions.
- Assume hands-on design responsibilities, including detailed IC layout oversight, lab evaluations, and design refinements.
- Conduct comprehensive design reviews addressing all facets: IC, packaging, electromagnetic (EM), and thermal factors.
- Effectively communicate with team members across all organizational levels, showcasing problem-solving abilities, data analysis, and critical thinking.
- Support the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept through to mass production.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 12 years of industry experience or a combination of relevant post-graduate academic experience (Master's or Ph.D.).
- In-depth understanding of power amplifier functionality, including operational modes, matching, biasing, and architectural design.
- Experience with IC tape-outs in Silicon, GaAs HBT, GaN, or other pertinent semiconductor technologies.
- Proficient in electromagnetic (EM) principles, including passive components such as couplers, baluns, and matching networks.
- Expertise in using Keysight ADS, Cadence, and related simulation tools and data visualization.
- Familiarity with EM simulation tools like Momentum, HFSS, and EMX.
- Comfortable with modern scripting or programming languages is advantageous.
- Solid grasp of RF systems and knowledge of wireless standards, including 3GPP cellular (2G/3G/4G/5G/6G), WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and others.
- Experience in FEM product development and client engagement.
- A positive mindset and eagerness to enhance your skill set.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation capabilities.
- Ability to independently manage and execute project tasks with minimal oversight.
- A collaborative team player with leadership qualities, focused on product specifications and timelines.
- Interest in mentoring and nurturing junior talent.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $136,800 - $271,500 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
