Senior Business Operations Analyst
Remote

Compensation:
$50-60 per hour

*This position is primarily remote for the duration of the assignment, with occasional on-site requirements expected to be infrequent. Candidates local to the Bay Area are preferred for equipment setup.

3) Strong proficiency in Power BI, PowerPoint, and Excel (Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Teams, Word)
4) Basic understanding of governance and change management processes

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Facilitates the monthly governance cycle for the Electric Operations portfolio, including data analysis, reporting, and collaboration with Finance partners, culminating in presentations to executive leadership.
  • Ensures adherence to annual budget for portfolio programs by managing the financial change request process, ensuring timely submission, review, and revision of change requests. Evaluates risks and opportunities to inform overall financial assessments.
  • Collaborates with Business Operations Investment Planning and Portfolio Managers to manage financial triggers that prioritize spending effectively, maintaining a balanced budget.
  • Applies expertise to various change control processes and addresses challenges as they arise.
  • Proposes enhancements to reporting tools based on stakeholder needs, trends, and organizational priorities.
  • May lead special projects related to portfolio management and change controls, and engage in discussions for IT enhancements. Works with cross-functional teams to optimize process rollouts.
  • Prepares regular reports and presents status updates to senior management. Organizes and leads cross-functional meetings to discuss financial analyses and recommend solutions.
  • Supports activities related to the portfolio change control function.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, a technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in integrated or strategic portfolio/work planning within a utility or related sector.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including advanced analytical tools.
  • Experience with large data sets and diverse data sources.
  • Strong data analysis capabilities, including data collection, organization, synthesis, reporting, and trend recognition.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling concepts and budgeting processes.
  • Experience collaborating with large teams and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Skills in influencing and negotiating to achieve consensus among various stakeholders.
  • Advanced technical abilities in systems such as SAP Work Management and Business Warehouse for report development and analysis.
