Rivermont Schools is in search of a qualified Licensed Special Education Teacher to enhance our team. As a Licensed Special Education Teacher, you will be pivotal in guiding our students towards success. This role involves delivering academic instruction and mentoring students collaboratively within a supportive team framework, under the guidance of school leadership.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia Department of Education License
  • Preferred experience of three (3) years in teaching children with behavioral or learning challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • A proactive and positive mindset
  • Preferred possession of a valid Virginia Driver's License
  • Early Childhood Special Education endorsement is a plus
Core Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement tailored educational services.
  • Provide leadership and direction to classroom staff.
  • Employ evidence-based teaching strategies that promote critical thinking and real-world applications for all learners.
  • Assess and evaluate student understanding to inform instructional practices.
  • Communicate student progress and achievements to families and stakeholders.
  • Assist in gathering quality metrics for performance indicators.
  • Uphold student confidentiality in accordance with agency policies and privacy regulations.
