Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Medical Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic information by operating imaging equipment to create radiographic images. Prior to each procedure, you will prepare patients through appropriate positioning and imaging techniques, adjusting equipment as necessary.

  • Ensure the quality and consistency of radiographic images by adhering to established protocols.
  • Document patient care activities in both patient and departmental records.
  • Review images for technical accuracy and confirm anatomical orientation.
  • Assist the radiologist with administering medications and contrast agents, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to meet departmental needs.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent military training in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and a valid state license.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within the first month of employment.
  • Membership in the American Society of Radiologic Technologists is preferred.
