Job Overview

The role of a Clinical Simulation Specialist involves the precise and consistent portrayal of a patient's medical history, demeanor, physical characteristics, and emotional responses at a specific moment. This position is crucial for evaluating and documenting the performance of learners, offering tailored feedback on their clinical and interpersonal abilities, and ensuring patient satisfaction is represented accurately. In this role, the Specialist will undergo interviews and physical assessments by learners or healthcare professionals as if they were an actual patient. Additional training will be provided to selected individuals to enhance their ability to teach and refine physical examination techniques using their own body as a model.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities encompass simulating patient scenarios, instructing and evaluating healthcare providers at various levels (undergraduate, postgraduate, and practicing professionals) in both clinical and communication skills. This may involve teaching proper physical examination methods. Other duties include timely communication via email, demonstrating professionalism, collaborating effectively within a team, and fulfilling commitments to the simulation program.

Essential Duties:

- Accurately simulate all facets of the patient experience, including medical history, behavior, and physical findings in a reliable manner.

- Educate and assess the clinical skills of medical students and other learners.

- Document learner skills consistently and accurately using computer systems.

- Provide constructive feedback to learners to facilitate their development.

- Oversee the performance of other Clinical Simulation Specialists to ensure quality assurance.

- Accept and integrate ongoing feedback from supervisors into simulation practices.
