Job Summary
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Standardized Patient Specialist to join our team. As a Standardized Patient Specialist, you will play a critical role in the training and assessment of healthcare professionals, providing a realistic and immersive experience for learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Simulate patient scenarios, including medical histories, physical findings, and emotional responses, to provide a realistic and immersive experience for learners.
- Teach and assess the clinical skills of medical students and other learners, providing feedback and guidance to help them develop their skills.
- Document learner performance and provide written and verbal feedback to learners.
- Monitor the quality of patient simulations and provide feedback to improve the overall experience.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and educators to develop and implement patient simulation scenarios.
Requirements
- Ability to work well with a variety of people, including healthcare professionals, educators, and learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with learners and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to recall patient scenarios accurately and consistently, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills, with the ability to use software and technology to document learner performance and provide feedback.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
