Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Claims Specialist to join our team at SERVPRO of South Palm Beach. As a key member of our catastrophe response team, you will be responsible for managing complex commercial claims and leading our disaster recovery efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Claim Management: Manage an inventory of highly complex commercial claims with large exposures, ensuring timely and adequate reserves, and collaborating with internal and external business partners to develop and execute claim resolution strategies.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally and effectively with insureds, claimants, and business partners, achieving quality and cycle time standards, and responding promptly to inquiries and requests for information.
  • Claim Resolution: Resolve claims by collaborating with internal and external business partners to develop, own, and execute claim resolution strategies, including management of timely and adequate reserves, collaborating with coverage experts, negotiating complex settlements, and authorizing payments within scope of authority.
  • Claim Budgeting: Establish and manage claim budgets by achieving timely claim resolution, selecting and actively overseeing appropriate resources, authorizing expense payments, and delivering high-quality service in an efficient manner.
  • Subrogation and Salvage: Realize and address subrogation/salvage opportunities or potential fraud occurrences by evaluating the facts of the claim and making referrals to appropriate Claim, Recovery, or SIU resources for further investigation.
  • Quality Standards: Achieve quality standards by appropriately managing each claim to ensure that all company protocols are followed, work is accurate and timely, all files are properly documented, and claims are resolved and paid timely.
  • Leadership and Oversight: Provide leadership and oversight to CAT contractors, including giving technical direction on claims, monitoring claim disposition, driving effective claim outcomes, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Training and Development: Mentor, guide, develop, and deliver training to less experienced Claim Professionals.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Typically a minimum six years of relevant experience, preferably in claim handling.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire where applicable.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and presentation skills, analytical and investigative mindset, critical thinking skills, ability to make sound business decisions, and to effectively evaluate and resolve ambiguous, complex, and challenging business problems.
