Overview:
The Customer Service Specialist plays a vital role in addressing and resolving inquiries related to patient accounts, both from third-party sources and private-pay clients. This position involves conducting financial consultations and establishing payment arrangements for private-pay claims, as well as guiding patients through the Care Assurance and Charity application processes.
Educational Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience Requirements:
Candidates should possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in healthcare billing, follow-up, or customer service within a hospital setting. This experience should encompass a thorough understanding of healthcare billing practices, insurance payment protocols, and effective telephone communication skills.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in standardized PC applications.
- Strong interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with clients both in person and via telephone.
- Capability to uphold the confidentiality of patient, employee, and financial information.
