Job Title: Campus Director of Operations

At KIPP DC, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Campus Director of Operations to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students and staff.

About the Role

The Campus Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our campus, ensuring that all aspects of the school run smoothly and efficiently. This includes managing a team of support staff, coordinating with vendors, and implementing financial and business functions that support the school's mission and culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • People Management: Directly manage a team of 4 support staff, including school operations managers and lunch administrators. Establish and nurture a team culture, provide clear expectations, and regular feedback.
  • Vendor Management: Serve as the main point of contact for security, facilities, MPD, cleaning, and other external vendors. Coordinate efforts among facilities personnel, security personnel, and external vendors.
  • School Management: Support one of our schools across a range of business issues, including implementing financial and business functions that streamline performance between the school, campus, and headquarters.
  • Campus Management: Manage all logistics of security coordination and student transportation. Engage MPD, WMATA, and community partners as necessary. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and all other financial operations.
Requirements
  • Unquestioned commitment to KIPP DC's mission and values.
  • Bachelor's Degree required or 7 years of relevant Finance and Operations experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience preferred; school setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook required.
  • Familiarity with finance and accounting principles.
  • Familiarity working in education.
  • Previous experience in a customer service-oriented role is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and generate creative solutions.
  • A sense of urgency and ability to proactively and effectively prioritize multiple high-impact initiatives and tasks.
  • Project planning experience required, with demonstrated ability to see large projects through to completion.
