Defense Account Manager

Hartwell Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Defense Account Manager to lead customer engagements with a primary focus on the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and other key defense customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Customer Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and other OEM and Aftermarket defense customers, serving as the main point of contact and advocating for customer needs and satisfaction.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue opportunities to expand business within existing accounts, developing and executing account strategies to achieve revenue targets and increase market share.
- Contract Management: Oversee contract negotiations, renewals, and FAR/DFAR compliance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and timely delivery of products and services.
- Market Analysis and Strategy: Stay informed on industry trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments impacting defense procurement, providing strategic insights and recommendations to Business Unit Managers and senior management.
- Communication and Reporting: Prepare regular reports on account status, including sales, bookings, backlog, quoting activities, and achievements, collaborating closely with Business Unit Managers and senior management to align on customer priorities and strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in account management, business development, or sales within the defense industry.
- In-depth knowledge of defense procurement processes and familiarity with government contracting requirements.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Security clearance or ability to obtain one may be required based on job requirements.
- Strong Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and analytical skills.
- Able to problem-solve and multi-task a variety of issues.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on achieving measurable results.
- Adaptability and resilience in managing complex customer relationships.
