Job Title: Outreach Worker

Epworth Children & Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Worker to join our team. As an Outreach Worker, you will play a vital role in connecting with homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth, providing them with essential resources and support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Job Summary:

The Outreach Worker will be responsible for conducting outreach in the community, identifying the needs of youth, and connecting them with resources, crisis intervention, referral information, and tangible goods. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct outreach in the community to identify the needs of homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth
  • Connect youth with resources, crisis intervention, referral information, and tangible goods
  • Provide basic computer assistance and guidance to youth
  • Perform regular community mapping to identify areas where homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth congregate
  • Provide crisis intervention services to at-risk, runaway, and homeless youth
  • Deliver presentations and distribute written information about the Street Outreach Program
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license and insurance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with runaway, homeless, and street youth
