Work Schedule: PRN / As needed
Shift Details: Rotating weekdays, shifts, and weekends
Position Overview: As a Senior Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will undertake advanced pharmacy technician responsibilities and engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing quality and performance.
Your Contributions:
- Gather clinical data to assist Pharmacists.
- Coordinate special projects effectively.
- Oversee auditing and quality assurance processes, including barcode scanning and controlled substance management.
- Manage billing processes, including Long Term Care (LTC) billing and Medicare D claim adjudication.
- Act as a resource for automation technologies, providing training and support in IV workflows, carousels, Pyxis systems, automated dispensing cabinets, troubleshooting, compounding, and robotics.
- Facilitate advanced cross-training for dedicated buyers, staff, operating room satellite, and retail personnel.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and manage inventory and drug shortage optimization.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- High school diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years of experience, or an Associate's degree, or a Technical degree.
- Pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
Pharmacy Technician credential from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation is required prior to hire or job transfer.
Preferred Licensure and Certification:
- Pharmacy Technician credential from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- Pharmacy Technician credential from the National Healthcareer Association.
