Job Overview:

As a Sales Associate at Salt Life, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer experiences while promoting our brand. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of sales and customer service activities aimed at fostering strong relationships with our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Customer Service:

  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Consistently strive to meet and surpass personal sales targets.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Utilize proper communication etiquette when engaging with customers through various channels.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of Salt Life products, including specifications, styles, and features, to effectively assist customers.
  • Adapt to changes in the store environment, including new policies, products, and customer needs.
  • Build authentic relationships with customers by welcoming them upon entry and expressing gratitude upon their departure.
  • Assess customer needs and provide tailored suggestions or alternatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, guiding them in making informed product selections.
  • Stay informed about current apparel and accessory trends to enhance customer interactions.

Inventory Management and Merchandising:

  • Ensure the store is organized, clean, and well-stocked on a daily basis.
  • Participate actively in merchandising efforts, including stock maintenance and floor recovery.
  • Assist in the setup and execution of floor sets.
  • Engage in daily operational tasks such as folding, straightening, and replenishing merchandise.

Loss Prevention:

  • Safeguard store assets and inventory by adhering to loss prevention protocols.
  • Report any suspicious activities or inventory discrepancies to management.
  • Follow established loss prevention policies at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Interest in ocean-related activities.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work on the sales floor for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform various physical tasks.
  • Positive, outgoing, and energetic personality.
  • Proficient in operating retail point-of-sale systems.

  • Customer Service: Novice level.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Enthusiastic: Demonstrates eagerness and enjoyment in the role.
