Job Summary

US Anesthesia Partners is seeking a highly skilled Accounts Receivable Representative III to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting outstanding accounts receivable from third-party payers, including government and commercial entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contact insurance companies to obtain status on outstanding claims.
  • Process and follow up on appeals to insurance companies.
  • Refile claims as needed.
  • Manage daily correspondence.
  • Maintain proficiency in using spreadsheets.
  • Audit adjustment requests and complete when appropriate.
  • Resolve manual tasks assigned to AR for follow-up.
  • Work outstanding accounts receivable from assigned work queues.
  • Meet productivity standards set by the department.
  • Maintain an accuracy rating of 97% or greater on audited accounts.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Phone patients for payment or payment arrangements on outstanding balances.
  • Develop expertise across multiple workflows and various payers.
  • Provide peer payer and system training support.
  • Gather data and report out in partnership with leadership.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years professional/healthcare experience preferred.
  • 3+ years Accounts Receivable experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills for calculating anesthesia units, proper reimbursement, and percentages for adjustments.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance processing, guidelines, laws, and EOBs.
  • Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.
  • Data entry skills with high accuracy.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and ASA codes.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Decision-making ability with sound judgment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Skill in gathering and reporting information.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians, and external customers.
  • Pleasant disposition and high tolerance level.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Self-motivator and goal-oriented.
  • Skilled in computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Teams.
