Position Overview:

The role of the Intake Specialist is crucial in enhancing the healthcare experience for our patients. As the initial point of contact, you will help shape the patient’s journey through our services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service during every patient interaction.
  • Communicate clearly to guide patients through the onboarding process, ensuring they connect effectively with our telehealth platform.
  • Accurately gather and enter patient demographic information, insurance details, and other pertinent data into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Verify and update patient information to ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative personnel to facilitate onboarding workflows and address patient inquiries or special needs.
  • Educate patients on accessing our patient portal and utilizing technology tools to enhance their experience.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, while maintaining the confidentiality and security of patient information.
  • Effectively communicate with patients and their families to help them navigate in-network and community resources as outlined in their after-visit summary (AVS) care plans.
  • Identify and escalate complex issues to the appropriate personnel for resolution when necessary.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in roles such as medical receptionist, healthcare call center representative, or 911 dispatcher.
  • Preferred additional certification or degree in healthcare administration.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team and with other administrative and clinical staff.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills to foster a positive experience for patients and their families.
  • Capability to manage inquiries, complaints, and challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to accurately collect and input patient information into various software applications.
  • Familiarity with basic medical and insurance terminology to understand and document patient information accurately.
  • Sensitivity to diverse patient populations and the ability to interact respectfully with individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail and a drive to meet or exceed organizational goals.
  • Willingness to adapt to changes in processes, technology, or responsibilities within a dynamic environment.
  • Availability to work nights.
