Position Overview


The individual in this role is responsible for conducting interviews with incoming patients or their representatives, accurately documenting the necessary information for admission, and allocating patients to available accommodations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients to identify those requiring immediate medical intervention versus those with less urgent needs.
  • Conduct thorough interviews to gather and confirm all relevant admission information.
  • Input patient details into the Central Computer System of CAMC.
  • Prepare essential documentation to facilitate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients.
  • Assign appropriate rooms based on the patient's condition and the type of accommodation available.
  • Organize, file, and manage patient records, ensuring timely preparation and distribution of admission forms and related documents.
  • Execute clerical and receptionist tasks as needed, including escorting patients and assisting with mobility. Maintain a log of patient census and compile monthly statistical reports.
  • Ensure the upkeep of equipment and manage supplies, including printer paper.
  • Alert the appropriate authorities, such as the Police or Health Department, when necessary.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


Knowledge of Patient Groups (Applicable to roles with direct patient interaction) The employee must acquire and demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate assessment, treatment, or care as defined by the department's patient demographics.

Specifically, the employee must exhibit proficiency in: 1) gathering and interpreting information based on patient needs; 2) understanding growth and development; and 3) recognizing the range of treatments required by patients.

Competency Statement The employee must demonstrate competency through initial orientation and ongoing validation to independently perform assigned tasks and additional responsibilities as outlined in the job description and the specific competency checklist for the unit/department.

  8. Follow all organizational and departmental policies and procedures as applicable.
  9. Carry out related tasks as assigned.
