Medical Assistant II Certified

The Medical Assistant II, Certified provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers and teams in an outpatient setting. This role requires a strong foundation in medical assisting principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine clinical and administrative tasks, including rooming patients, collecting vital signs, and preparing exam rooms.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care activities, such as treatments, examinations, and procedures.
- Collect and document patient information, including medical and social history, medication lists, and allergies.
- Administer medications and perform phlebotomy under the direction of a healthcare provider.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests, such as EKGs and eye exams, under the direction of a healthcare provider.
- Review patient records to identify routine health screenings and ensure exam rooms are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Provide patient education and instructions on after-visit care, follow-up, and self-care.
- Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and referrals.
- Answer clinic phones and assist with in-basket tasks under the direction of a healthcare provider or nurse.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant by a recognized credentialing organization.
- Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- At least one year of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, including effective communication and interpersonal skills.
This role is based in an outpatient clinic setting, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care and support to healthcare providers and teams. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
