Medical Assistant II Certified

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant II Certified to join our team at UNC Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional clinical and administrative support to our providers and patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
Responsibilities- Perform routine clinical and administrative tasks, including rooming and intake processes, collecting patient data, and assisting providers with treatments and examinations.
- Collect and process patient specimens, administer medications, and perform tests under the direction of a provider.
- Ensure exam and treatment rooms are properly stocked and maintained, and provide patients with after-visit instructions and educational materials as needed.
- Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and referrals, and answer clinic telephone calls and respond to in-basket messages.
- Participate in emergency situations and contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Medical Assistant certification by a recognized organization, such as the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA).
- Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC).
- At least one year of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified, with demonstrated possession of the competencies outlined in the Medical Assistant, Certified Advancement Worksheet.
