Position Summary:

The Assistant Project Manager will be involved in all facets of commercial construction, encompassing contract management, project execution from inception to completion, planning, development, scheduling, and ongoing oversight of project results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of bids, initiation of projects, analysis of contract awards, submission of permits and regulatory documents, and establishment of project systems.
  • Support in coordinating and reviewing drawings, submissions, specifications, changes, and maintaining document control.
  • Assistance in the development and upkeep of project schedules and cost management systems, including forecasting.
  • Facilitation of material procurement and coordination of delivery schedules.
  • Preparation and monitoring of payment requests, invoices, and estimates.
  • Management of change processes, including documentation setup and administration.
  • Oversight of subcontractor administration, including scope definition, responding to RFIs, and general document management.
  • Monitoring and supporting the implementation of quality control, safety, and environmental programs.
  • Involvement in project closeout, including coordination of documentation related to deficiencies, warranties, maintenance, and final payments.
  • Acting as the onsite quality manager for designated trades, ensuring subcontractor deliveries align with approved requirements.
  • Participation in project meetings and assisting the Project Manager in preparing progress reports and meeting minutes.
  • Distribution of proposal change documents to subcontractors/suppliers and assistance in gathering pricing and preparing change proposal requirements for internal review.
  • Ensuring that Purchase Orders and Change Orders are submitted to accounting.
  • Building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Assisting with constructability reviews and supporting the development of construction documents.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Project Management, preferably in Construction.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in institutional construction is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word & Excel) and virtual collaboration tools.
  • Familiarity with CMIC and Procore is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills are essential for addressing various challenges, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with a proactive and positive attitude, are crucial.
