AP & Import Compliance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled AP & Import Compliance Manager to join our team at Bealls. This role will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting financial data, recommending changes to improve current Accounts Payable systems and performance, and designing and implementing approved Accounts Payable objectives and system enhancements.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, three to five years of Accounting experience, and two to four years of Process Improvement experience. Additionally, they will have in-depth knowledge of HTS classification, import valuations, assists, and special trade programs, as well as proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Access, Word, and Power Point.

The AP & Import Compliance Manager will interact with various stakeholders, including Finance Managers, the Treasurer, the Accounting Manager, and the Internal Audit Manager. They will also be responsible for managing all processing functions of a staff of at least twenty and ensuring the integrity of all work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret financial data and recommend changes to improve current Accounts Payable systems and performance.
  • Design and implement approved Accounts Payable objectives and system enhancements.
  • Assist DVP Accounts Payable with other various functions.
  • Manage Customs Brokers, freight forwarders, C-TPAT, ISA, ACE, ISF, self-filing, Customs Bonds, recordkeeping, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and update detailed and comprehensive policies and procedures for the department.
  • Develop and reward a culture within the Accounts Payable Department that emphasizes customer service, continuing process improvement, building effective working relationships with people outside the department, and personal responsibility for the integrity of all work.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Three to five years of Accounting experience.
  • Two to four years of Process Improvement experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of HTS classification, import valuations, assists, and special trade programs.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Access, Word, and Power Point.
