Job Summary
As a Senior Contract Negotiator & Compliance Expert, you will play a vital role in supporting the legal team by managing contracts with healthcare providers. Your responsibilities will include creating, drafting, revising, amending, managing, and administering contracts, developing and managing internal contracting protocols, credentialing, compliance, and compensation. You will ensure contracts meet all regulatory and legal requirements and align with organizational goals and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review contracts for physicians, including employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, professional services agreements, and other related documents
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with physicians and other parties, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures
- Coordinate with various departments, such as compliance, physician services, medical staff, human resources, finance, credentialing, and legal, to obtain necessary approvals and signatures for contracts
- Monitor contract status, expiration dates, renewals, amendments, and terminations
- Monitor contract performance and compliance, and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise
- Provide contract support and guidance to staff and answer contract-related inquiries or requests
- Conduct contract audits and analysis, and prepare reports and recommendations for contract improvement and optimization
- Perform and manage legal due diligence on mergers, acquisitions, and other transactional work
- Gather and develop facts in connection with inquiries and investigations, and in response to discovery requests
- Draft and send legal correspondence
- Maintain confidentiality on all sensitive information and department matters
Education and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma is required, and a Bachelor's degree in business, law, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred
- A minimum of three years of experience in contract management in the healthcare industry is required
- Knowledge of contract law, healthcare regulations, and physician credentialing and compensation is essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, is required
Compensation
The estimated salary for this role is between $85,000 and $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Hoag offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and generous paid time off.
