Job Summary

The Medical Office Coordinator is a vital member of our team at Joslin Diabetes Center, responsible for providing exceptional support to physicians and allied health professionals in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the flow of medical information internally and externally, ensuring seamless communication between patients, healthcare providers, and external parties.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, providing accurate and timely information to facilitate effective care.
  • Enter information into electronic health records with precision and attention to detail.
  • Triage incoming calls, taking independent action where possible and escalating issues as needed.
  • Provide general information about the clinic and its services, ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Participate in issue-specific groups, reporting back on any issues that require team decision-making.
  • Analyze provider schedules using automated systems, ensuring efficient operations.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Certificate from a business school or program.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a medical office or reception setting, or other customer service-oriented position.
  • ABR-OE certification preferred.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with automated medical record and registration/scheduling systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of managed care and insurance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks and procedures.
  • Strong ability to multitask while maintaining a professional demeanor.
