Job Summary

The Medical Office Coordinator is a vital member of our team at Joslin Diabetes Center, responsible for providing exceptional support to physicians and allied health professionals in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Office Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating schedules, assisting with the review and development of orientation materials, and participating in continuous quality improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively manage the flow of medical information internally and externally
  • Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring seamless communication
  • Accurately enter information into electronic health records
  • Triaging incoming calls and taking independent action where possible
  • Providing general information about the clinic and its services
  • Participating in issue-specific groups and reporting back on team decisions
  • Utilizing automated scheduling systems to analyze provider schedules
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Certificate from a business school or program
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a medical office or customer service setting
  • ABR-OE certification preferred
  • Experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with automated medical record and registration/scheduling systems
  • Knowledge of managed care and insurance requirements
