Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Receptionist/Program Aide to join our team at The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory. This role will provide administrative support for our Pasadena Corps, located in Pasadena, Texas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general program and information about the Corps operations and services
  • Receive and process deliveries and donations
  • Greet and announce visitors and clients
  • Provide administrative assistance for the Social Services, Food Pantry, and Christmas Season Programs
  • Assist with children's activities at an after-school program
  • Perform routine clerical work, including typing and filing
  • Assist with transporting passengers in a Salvation Army vehicle
Requirements
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Prior experience working with the public in a customer service or receptionist role
  • Ability to direct phone calls to the appropriate person or destination
  • Ability to respond to and assist callers and visitors in a calm, courteous, and tactful manner
  • Ability to record accurate and complete messages
  • Ability to perform clerical support work while operating a multi-line telephone
  • Ability to maintain an adequate supply of applications, informative materials, and/or brochures for distribution to visitors
  • Ability to respond to emergencies in a calm and effective manner
  • Ability to project a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army
Working Conditions

This role is typically performed in a normal office environment with little to no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
