Manufacturing Team Leader

At District Photo, our workforce is the core of our operations. We are looking for dedicated Manufacturing Team Leaders to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview
In this capacity, you will be tasked with steering a productive, efficient, and safe production environment while achieving or surpassing daily output targets. Collaboration with team members and other departmental leaders will be essential to ensure seamless coordination with Production, Quality Assurance, and Shipping sectors. This role will ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, timely shipment of quality products, and strict compliance with safety regulations.
We expect our Manufacturing Team Leaders to work autonomously while fostering a positive work culture, promoting effective communication, and maximizing productivity. You will play a vital role in the professional growth of our employees, which includes training, development, performance evaluations, and enhancing workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the team's performance in achieving daily production goals, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring timely service while independently managing efficiencies, labor utilization, and waste reduction.
- Lead a team in a fast-paced, technical environment that prioritizes quality.
- Contribute to operational success by implementing best practices and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Innovate methods and procedures to enhance efficiencies, optimize labor use, and minimize operational costs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations in line with company policies and applicable laws.
- Exhibit visible leadership to cultivate a motivated, positive, and productive workforce.
- Identify, mentor, and develop team members through training, performance reviews, and appropriate delegation.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork, promotes positive employee relations, and effectively addresses conflicts.
- Implement and uphold company policies and procedures consistently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace.
- Monitor and document the ongoing safety program, recommending and executing necessary adjustments to meet safety standards.
- Coach staff on safety best practices.
- Develop risk assessments and contingency plans in accordance with industry best practices.
- Conduct investigations related to employee injuries or property damage, providing recommendations to prevent recurrence and assisting in the resolution of work-related incidents.
Working Conditions
- Involves significant walking, bending, and standing.
- Physical activities include reaching, pulling, pushing, gripping, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Self-starter with the ability to execute initiatives with minimal guidance.
- Strong team player who can balance taking direction with providing effective leadership.
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate employees through consistent and fair practices.
- Regularly supervises a team of 20+ employees, including tasks such as hiring, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
- Experience in training and developing staff.
- Exemplifies leadership by treating all individuals with respect and professionalism.
- Handles pressure effectively.
- Demonstrates decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at various levels.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work as needed, especially during peak periods to meet departmental objectives.
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
