Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement EHS Programs: Coordinate health and safety practices and processes in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure Compliance: Assure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including obtaining and maintaining necessary permits and licenses.
  • Monitor Safety Equipment: Maintain a safe and efficient inventory of safety equipment, ordering as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Audits and Investigations: Conduct regular safety audits of laboratories, production areas, and office spaces, including the creation of formal reports and abatement tracking systems.
  • Investigate Incidents: Conduct timely and thorough investigations of accidents and incidents, collaborating with various departments to implement corrective actions.
  • Develop Training Programs: Create EHS training programs as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Liaise with Regulatory Bodies: Collaborate with consultants and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and standards.
  • Manage Chemical Inventory: Manage new chemical inventory and interpret safety data sheets to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage Hazardous Material Handling: Ensure safe and efficient handling of hazardous materials.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing EHS role, preferably in chemical, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including Maryland environmental, health, and safety regulations.
