At District Photo, our workforce is the cornerstone of our operations. We are currently in search of a GMP Laminator-Slitter Operator for our manufacturing facility.
Position Overview
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently perform equipment setup, start-ups, change-overs, operations, and shut-downs of Finishing Machines in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production timelines.
- Monitor product quality and inspect for defects during production runs.
- Manage, organize, and maintain extensive data records.
- Verify job specifications against job tickets prior to processing.
- Utilize critical thinking to manage workflow across the production floor.
- Generate reports using a database-driven system, tracking hourly throughput, waste, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Complete daily documentation, including operator logs, efficiency reports, and waste reports.
- Load material rolls onto machinery for processing.
- Review hourly productivity and quality metrics with supervisory staff.
- Identify and report any quality or productivity issues to supervisors.
- Adhere to all job-related ISO quality protocols and customer specifications.
- Conduct end-of-shift paperwork and housekeeping with machine operators.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Cross-train on additional machinery to support production as necessary.
- Ensure operational safety at all times.
- Perform any other assigned duties.

- Physical capability to handle, install, position, and manipulate materials.
- Ability to operate machinery through control mechanisms or physical activity.
- Capability to reach, bend, twist, grasp, and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift over 50 lbs.
- Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed to fulfill customer demands.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Comfortable with computers and machinery operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of machine operation experience, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated equipment.
- Previous experience in an IT capacity.
Degree or apprenticeship in press operation, mechatronics, mechanics, or a related technical field involving automated machinery.
