Within Northrop Grumman's Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division, the Mission Enabling Products team stands as a premier designer, manufacturer, and supplier of spacecraft components that empower and facilitate satellites across all classifications.

Our offerings encompass spacecraft panels, bus structures, precision optical frameworks, deployable structural systems and mechanisms, solar arrays, and antenna reflectors. Our components are integral to nearly every U.S. satellite developed in the past two decades.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Evaluate manufacturing work instructions (MWI) and technical drawings to ensure proposed manufacturing processes align with cost and schedule commitments.

Collaborate in the design and production of tooling while integrating technical solutions.

Conduct analyses on manufacturability, ensuring processes and capabilities meet customer specifications and validate production readiness.

Develop and document standard manufacturing processes (SMPs) and time standards for all tasks within the designated manufacturing area.

Provide general support on the production floor and address manufacturing and technical challenges.

Conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) assessments for the assigned process center.

Act as the training coordinator in Learning Exchange (LX), creating necessary training materials, delivering training sessions, and approving operator certifications.

Apply engineering principles, advanced technologies, and lean methodologies.

Assist in customer proposals by supplying estimates for labor and schedule durations.

As needed, coordinate reviews and provide input on test plans: analyze and assess test data.

Complete Costpoint MBOMs in accordance with product scheduling requirements.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience is required.

Process Center Engineer Level 2 prerequisites:

At least 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a manufacturing environment; aerospace manufacturing experience is advantageous.

Principal Process Center Engineer Level 3 prerequisites:

A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree and experience in a manufacturing setting; aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred.

Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and demonstrate the capability to determine critical parameters and develop process controls.

Proven ability to multitask and self-initiate with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and a solid understanding of GD&T.

Proficiency in MS Office is required; including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

U.S. Citizenship is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices is a plus.

Experience in an ISO 9001 compliant manufacturing or fabrication environment.

Experience in drafting technical specifications or manufacturing work instructions.

Knowledge of CNC (Computer Numeric Controlled) machining operations.

Understanding of adhesive bonding in aerospace structures.

SALARY RANGE:
$95,000 - $142,400

SALARY RANGE 2:
$77,100 - $115,700


The above salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may qualify for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
