Job Overview:

The starting compensation for this role begins at $15/hour, contingent upon qualifications and relevant experience exceeding the minimum standards. This is a flexible position, averaging 20-29 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the cleaning and upkeep of guest and employee garments within the Lodging division.
  • Manage the logistics of pick-up and delivery from cleaning services.
  • Ensure proper storage and inventory management of uniforms and related items.
  • Document requests for dry cleaning from guests and hotel management.
  • Handle lost and found items, along with minor repairs and alterations.
  • Assist with phone inquiries and perform administrative tasks as needed.
  • Provide general support to the department and company leadership.

Work Schedule: Hours may vary, typically from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

  1. Prior experience in a similar role is highly preferred.
  2. Familiarity with sewing, repair, and alteration techniques is essential; knowledge of hotel operations is a plus.
  3. Strong commitment to delivering exceptional service and anticipating guest needs.
  4. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively under pressure.
  5. Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on quality and service delivery.
  6. Proactive approach with sound judgment and initiative.
  7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to respond appropriately to inquiries.
  8. Capability to operate small commercial sewing and cleaning equipment.
  9. Quick learner of company systems and processes; basic knowledge of Excel and Word is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds occasionally (with assistance).
  2. Capable of various physical movements throughout the work area, including kneeling, stooping, bending, and reaching.
  3. Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods; climbing ladders or stairs may be required.

Essential Duties:

  1. Perform office tasks including report generation, answering phones, and data entry.
  2. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work and storage areas.
  3. Manage inventory in the Housekeeping department storeroom.
  4. Distribute clean uniforms to staff daily.
  5. Verify guest laundry against tickets and inspect items for quality and accuracy.
  6. Submit work orders for necessary repairs.
  7. Coordinate pickups and deliveries, including guest pressing requests.
  8. Conduct basic repairs on staff uniforms.
  9. Measure and issue uniforms for new staff, providing details for alterations as needed.
  10. Organize and store clean staff uniforms systematically.
