The Tea Service Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests by effectively coordinating service and maintaining communication with both front and back of house staff.

Our team members are dedicated to providing warm hospitality, ensuring that every guest receives attentive, friendly, and prompt service in accordance with established Biltmore service standards.


The Tea Service Specialist is tasked with the setup and execution of tea and beverage events while delivering outstanding customer service. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability on weekends, holidays, and potential overtime.

Availability on weekends and holidays is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of teas and beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Address guest needs promptly and ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Accurately take orders and manage transactions using a point-of-sale system.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of tea varieties to offer informed recommendations to guests.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to guarantee that food orders are accurate and delivered promptly.
  • Keep tea and beverage service areas clean and well-organized at all times.
  • Process guest orders to ensure timely and proper preparation of all items.
  • Present, open, and pour wine as part of the service experience.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the complete menu and available beverages, with the ability to up-sell items appropriately.
  • Ensure that the required uniform is clean, well-maintained, and properly fitted.
Arrive ready to work in full uniform and appropriate footwear.

  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and potentially holidays.
  • May assist with stocking, clearing, and resetting tables as needed.
  • Complete all side duties thoroughly before the end of the shift to prepare for the next service period.
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a full-service dining environment is preferred, ideally with at least six months in an upscale setting.
  • Proven commitment to delivering exceptional guest service and exceeding expectations.
  • Excellent communication and guest relation skills; ability to provide sincere and gracious hospitality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the capability to manage various guest service situations effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proactive approach with good judgment and initiative.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor in line with Biltmore standards.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull weights of 25-50 pounds; capable of lifting and carrying 25-50 pounds on a large serving tray, above shoulder level, with one hand.
  • Requires significant walking or standing throughout the shift.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to hazards or physical risks, necessitating adherence to basic safety protocols.
  • Work will primarily occur in a restaurant or kitchen setting.
