Position Overview:

The Facility Operations Manager is accountable for the upkeep, repair, and overall maintenance of the facility and its surroundings. This role involves recruiting, training, and overseeing the maintenance, custodial, and housekeeping teams. This is a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all mechanical operations of the facility.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities and ensure timely repairs of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, roofing, and electrical systems.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure peak operational efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility and grounds by establishing a housekeeping schedule.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Complete repair projects promptly and supervise contractors working on-site.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manage and monitor the department's annual operating budget.
  • Ensure the upkeep of the building's exterior, surrounding grounds, and parking areas.
  • Oversee swimming pool operations, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with chemical and temperature standards.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate staff performance, implementing strategies to motivate and achieve departmental goals.
  • Conduct property inspections and maintenance audits, following up on necessary repairs.
  • Maintain assigned vehicles and equipment in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Participate in management discussions and support the overall mission of the YMCA.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in facility management.
  • Proficient knowledge in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other maintenance disciplines.
  • Familiarity with housekeeping and grounds maintenance.
  • CPR/AED certification is preferred.
  • Certification as a Pool Operator is preferred and must be obtained within six months of employment.
  • Ability to respond effectively to safety and emergency situations.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with diverse communities.
  • Proficient in personal computer applications, including email and Microsoft Office.
