Position Title: Facilities Operations Manager I

Job Overview:
This role is integral to the management of facilities operations, encompassing housekeeping, maintenance, and custodial services essential for the upkeep of the residential complex.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the facilities operations, ensuring that all maintenance and custodial tasks are executed efficiently to maintain high standards of cleanliness and functionality.
2. Develop, monitor, and manage the facilities budget, preparing regular reports and financial forecasts to align with departmental expectations.
3. Collaborate with the Physical Plant and Construction, Maintenance & Interior Design teams to coordinate long-term maintenance strategies, including renovations and equipment acquisitions.
4. Lead the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of supervisory and support staff within the complex.
5. Conduct inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and assess the quality of work performed.

Event Coordination:
Assist in the planning and execution of special events, projects, and daily operations, providing technical guidance and overseeing repair and maintenance activities.

Interpersonal Engagement:
Engage with residents, parents, faculty, and staff to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide necessary support and information.

Strategic Planning:
Contribute to the development of departmental objectives and long-term operational programs, assisting in budget preparation and financial oversight.

Communication and Collaboration:
Interact with various stakeholders, including co-workers, supervisory staff, union representatives, and external contractors, to ensure effective service delivery and operational efficiency.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:
This position entails a commitment to maintaining health and safety standards, including training staff in safe work practices.

Work Environment:
The role is primarily office-based, requiring moderate physical activity, including walking and climbing stairs.

Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in a related field, combined with five to eight years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management, is preferred. Candidates should possess strong skills in labor scheduling, financial analysis, and budgeting.

Additional Skills:
Proficiency in basic computer operations and effective communication across diverse communities is highly desirable.
