As a Research Data Specialist II at the Department of Toxic Substances Control, you will play a critical role in shaping the direction of California's premier environmental protection organization. Your successful impact will help us keep California clean now and into the future.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and operate DTSC's performance management system as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Coordinate with the Office of Environmental Information Management (OEIM) on the development and implementation of a data governance framework in DTSC.
- Support building data literacy throughout DTSC, identify data quality issues, provide recommendations for issue resolution and continuous quality improvement.
- Oversee the creation of performance dashboards and other data visualization tools to track and monitor performance for identified DTSC programs and support services.
- Provide technical consultation to core and support programs on the development of key performance indicators.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years with broad breadth and depth of experience as an analyst in a planning capacity.
- Advanced Excel skills with a focus on data analysis and model building.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and visualize large datasets to drive decision-making.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental cleanup, hazardous waste management or green chemistry.
