Job Description and Duties

The Department of Health Care Access and Information is seeking a highly skilled Research Data Specialist III to join our team. As a senior data programs specialist, you will serve as the subject matter expert in data collection, visualization, and analysis standards for the Enterprise Data Operations Branch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently perform complex ad hoc research and data requests to inform senior leadership within the Office of Information Services and the Office of Health Care Affordability.
  • Develop, track, and monitor key performance indicators for data collection programs.
  • Participate in data governance activities and provide technical assistance and training to junior level research data specialists and analysts.
  • Demonstrate advanced experience using statistical software such as SAS, Data Grip, SQL, and business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or other related visualization software.
Working Conditions:

The Research Data Specialist III will work in a hybrid telework schedule with a combination of remote and in-office work schedules for CA residents only. The telework policy is subject to change, and additional in-office days may be required and/or minimal notification may be given to report to the worksite if an urgent need arises.

Requirements:

Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If you are meeting minimum qualifications with education, you must include a copy of your unofficial transcripts and/or license for verification. Official sealed transcripts will be required upon appointment.
