Job Summary

The State of California is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Services Manager II to lead the Tribal Licensing Units. As a key member of the Division of Law Enforcement, Bureau of Gambling Control, this role will play a critical part in administering policies and procedures, planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Tribal Licensing Units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer policies and procedures for the Tribal Licensing Units
  • Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the Tribal Licensing Units
  • Participate in the formulation, interpretation, execution, and evaluation of unit, section, and Bureau policies and decisions
  • Establish goals and objectives for the Tribal Licensing Units in line with Bureau goals and objectives
  • Provide direction to subordinate management and staff in structuring and formalizing work processes for the Units
Requirements
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate good judgment when interacting with the public and professional staff
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects and possess excellent organizational skills
