Job Description and Duties

The Staff Services Manager II is a key position within the Department of Justice, responsible for overseeing the Public Support Section, Customer Support Center, Legislation Unit, and Firearms Applicant and Release Unit. This role requires a high level of managerial expertise, with a focus on planning, organizing, directing, and administering the work of professional staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the work of professional staff in the Public Support Section, Customer Support Center, Legislation Unit, and Firearms Applicant and Release Unit.
  • Review and evaluate workflow and quality of work to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Establish and maintain project priorities, monitor and exercise control over assigned resources and projects.
  • Implement new units and procedures, manage projects, allocate resources, and monitor and evaluate credit card payment processes.

Working Conditions

The Department of Justice has adopted telework for employees who can effectively perform their essential work functions remotely. This position may allow for some telework opportunities, subject to current conditions and potential re-evaluation as conditions change.
