Position Overview
The Nutrition Education Specialist will play a pivotal role in delivering established public education initiatives under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed). This role aims to enhance healthy eating and lifestyle choices among families and individuals across various age groups in the designated SNAP-Ed Region.

Key Responsibilities
This position involves collaboration with fellow nutrition professionals to promote SNAP-Ed programming effectively. The specialist will engage in:

  • Implementing educational programs using existing materials to reach both adult and youth participants.
  • Delivering high-quality nutrition education to diverse groups, adapting materials as necessary to meet program objectives.
  • Contributing to marketing efforts to raise awareness of SNAP-Ed initiatives.
  • Serving as a resource for nutrition-related inquiries from community members and organizations.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field. An Associate's degree with relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience in nutrition education or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills in English, with proficiency in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Working Environment
This full-time position requires the ability to work in an office setting and may involve occasional travel. The specialist will be expected to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
