Position Overview
The Nutrition Education Specialist will play a pivotal role in delivering established public health nutrition programs aimed at enhancing dietary habits and lifestyle choices among diverse populations across various age groups.

Key Responsibilities
This role encompasses the following key responsibilities:

  • Implementing nutrition education initiatives designed to promote healthy eating and active living.
  • Collaborating with fellow nutrition professionals to enhance outreach and marketing strategies for community programs.
  • Utilizing existing educational materials to effectively engage participants in both individual and group settings.
  • Adapting educational content to meet the specific needs of different audiences while ensuring program objectives are achieved.
  • Assisting in the evaluation of program effectiveness and making recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field. An Associate's degree combined with relevant experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in nutrition education or a related area.
  • Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with various digital platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional preferred qualifications include:

  • Registered Dietitian status.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and understanding local resources.
  • Skills in presenting educational content effectively to varied audiences.

Work Environment
This position requires the ability to work in a standard office environment and may involve some physical activity related to program delivery.
