Position Overview:
The SNAP-Ed Nutritionist will focus on implementing established public education initiatives under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP-Ed) to enhance healthy dietary and lifestyle choices among diverse populations, including families and individuals of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
This role involves collaborating with fellow nutritionists to promote SNAP-Ed programming and engage in marketing efforts to raise awareness of available resources.
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Community Health, Health Education, Public Health, or Nursing. An Associate's degree combined with two years of relevant experience may be considered.
- Relevant experience in nutrition education or a related field.
- Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to cultural sensitivity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered Dietitian credential is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish.
- Familiarity with local community resources and food preparation practices.
- Experience in delivering educational programs to various audiences.
Program Delivery:
Implement educational programming using existing materials to engage both adult and youth participants. Adapt curriculum as necessary to meet program objectives and assist in public awareness initiatives.
Administrative Duties:
Support the planning and execution of SNAP-Ed activities, manage participant records, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Professional Development:
Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance skills relevant to the position and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Health and Safety:
Adhere to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Commit to conducting all activities in alignment with civil rights and affirmative action policies, promoting inclusivity in all interactions.
