Financial Analyst for Student Affairs

Job Summary

The University of Oklahoma is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join the Student Affairs team. As a key member of the division, this role will provide daily financial and human resources support for the Vice President of Student Affairs Office and other assigned areas within the Division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the administration of human resources and financial related processes and procedures
  • Act as liaison for internal and external customers
  • Manage university and OU Foundation accounts
  • Enter requisitions, vouchers, interdepartmental transfers, and Service Unit Requests as needed
  • Provide staff support with purchases, travel claims, student awards and scholarships, and reimbursement requests
  • Monitor financial and budgetary systems for the department to ensure proper allocation of expenditures and compliance with applicable regulations
  • Balance assigned accounts and prepare monthly financial statements
  • Clear outstanding expenses, payroll, budget revisions, and transfers to ensure funds are spent correctly
  • Generate reliable cost information to be used in preparation of new or modified budget proposals
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of the annual budget and preparing follow-up reports as requested throughout the year
  • Collect and analyze data and prepare financial reports
  • Ensure quality of data, research inconsistencies, and conduct follow-up research to solve problems
  • Act as the payroll coordinator for assigned areas
  • Enter hire and termination information, compensation changes, promotions, and other personnel actions into HR PeopleSoft
  • Monitor positions in HR PeopleSoft, update time supervisors, assign required trainings, and run reports as needed
  • Maintain confidential records and track time-sensitive documents
  • Answer frequently asked questions from Student Affairs staff related to policies and processes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 24 months financial, budgeting or accounting experience
  • Equivalency Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Peoplesoft's Human Resources and/or Financials modules
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Taleo
