Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flight Instructor to join our team at the University of Oklahoma. As a Flight Instructor, you will be responsible for administering FAA syllabus flight and ground instruction to university students, performing check rides in accordance with FAA prescribed guidelines, and instructing ground school if required.

Responsibilities
  • Administer FAA syllabus flight and ground instruction to university students
  • Perform check rides in accordance with FAA prescribed guidelines
  • Instruct ground school if required
  • Administer FAA required ground tests
  • Schedule training, stage checks, and check rides
  • Perform FAST flights (faculty, staff transportation)
  • Assist in promoting the department of aviation
  • Develop new courses and syllabi
  • Help with preventive maintenance of OU fleet aircraft
  • Perform dispatching duties for daily flight ops
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED OR an equivalent combination of education/job-related experience
  • Ability to work with flight students one-on-one and in a classroom setting
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor License
  • Must have and maintain FAA Class II medical
  • Valid driver's license
Physical Requirements
  • Able to administer flight instructions
  • Lift up to 45 lbs of weight
