Role Description:
The Patient Care Associate II plays a vital role in supporting healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care. This includes assisting with patient transport, maintaining patient environments, and executing various clerical and administrative tasks within the care unit. The role requires clinical knowledge and skills, including the use of sterile techniques and monitoring medical equipment. Effective communication is essential for coordinating activities within the patient care unit.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist healthcare providers during routine examinations and procedures, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
2. Diligently review patient care documentation, noting any significant changes in patient conditions, and promptly report findings to a registered nurse or physician.
3. Execute a variety of clerical duties, including organizing and prioritizing tasks, welcoming visitors, conducting research for healthcare providers, reviewing orders for accuracy, transcribing physician orders, and maintaining medical records. Conduct routine quality assurance checks and manage supply inventories.
4. Provide administrative support, including performance improvement audits and data entry.
5. Assist with clinical support tasks such as maintaining cleanliness in work areas, troubleshooting equipment issues, changing linens, checking supply levels, and aiding in the orientation of new staff and students.
6. Deliver direct personal care to patients according to care plans, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with mobility. Measure and document vital signs, height, and weight. Responsibilities may also include specimen collection, wound care, and various patient monitoring tasks.
7. Reinforce educational information provided to patients by healthcare professionals and document patient comprehension of instructions. Distribute educational materials as requested by patients or healthcare providers.

Additional Information:
Education Requirements:
* High School diploma or GED
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* Certified as Nursing Assistant II with the relevant state board.
* Certified as Nursing Assistant I with the appropriate health department.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
* Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* Minimum of one (1) year in clerical or customer service roles, along with six (6) months of relevant nursing assistant experience, which may include formal training or a combination of education and experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Proficiency in verbal and written English. Ability to develop computer skills as needed.
