Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Planning: Synthesize complex patient data to determine priorities for care, including physical, psychosocial, and educational needs. Develop relationships with patients and families to promote their ability to advocate for their own needs.
- Education and Development: Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and others. Develop and present staff education programs to promote unit-specific knowledge and skills.
- Evaluation and Implementation: Evaluate patient progress and revise care plans accordingly. Demonstrate expertise in caring for patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, and educational aspects of care.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Develop goals to promote professional growth and minimize limitations. Participate in activities that facilitate intra/interdepartmental collaboration and serve as a role model for nursing involvement.
- Research and Quality Improvement: Read journals and discuss research findings with colleagues. Apply research findings to practice and participate in quality improvement activities to enhance patient care.
- Graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
- Professional certification relevant to the practice area and on the ANCC Magnet approved list within the probationary period of employment.
- One (1) year of nursing experience.
