Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Total Respiratory & Rehab. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs and selecting, instructing, and troubleshooting respiratory equipment and services to meet those needs.

Responsibilities
  • Train and assist with daily operations of Respiratory Therapy, including vents, intake, coverage, and quality assurance.
  • Receive and document orders for equipment and services from referral sources, physicians, patients, and caregivers.
  • Collect additional information and authorization as needed.
  • Assess patient needs and select the best equipment and services to meet those needs.
  • Instruct patients in the proper use and care of equipment.
  • Communicate with physicians on changes in patient condition and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Rotate to various branches to support business and patients.
  • Track and maintain follow-up on preventative maintenance and schedule visits for respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Assist with scheduled visits for oxygen therapy as needed.
  • Complete patient accounts paperwork, including Plan of Care/Home assessments.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and patients, families, caregivers, physicians, and healthcare agencies.
  • Conduct educational meetings and seminars for healthcare workers, patients, families, caregivers, and physicians.
  • Assist with arrangement of referrals to community agencies or for those traveling.
  • Develop and implement discharge plans for agency patients.
  • Assume full responsibility for actions, professional skills, and attitudes.
  • Support the organization by being loyal and informing the branch manager of areas of concern and problems to be resolved.
  • Keep cognizant of third-party reimbursement, criteria services, billing, patient paperwork, and equipment offered.
Requirements
  • High degree of integrity.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
  • Respiratory care experience and/or home care experience in the field of respiratory care.
  • Thorough knowledge and skills related to Home Medical Equipment field.
  • Ability to effectively manage all respiratory products provided by the company.
  • Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of people resulting in constructive working relationships.
  • People-sensitive characteristics with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, customer service, and time management skills.
  • Ability to cater to diverse customer base.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
