Position Overview

The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to become a vital part of our Research department. This role is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in advancing clinical research initiatives.

As a member of our team, you will collaborate with over 1,700 Permanente physicians and nearly 300 staff professionals, all committed to enhancing the health and well-being of our extensive member base across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the research team and Principal Investigator (PI) in evaluating patient eligibility for clinical trials, engaging with potential participants, obtaining informed consent, and ensuring smooth enrollment processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized study documentation, including source documentation, Case Report Forms, and regulatory binders, while ensuring accurate records of drug accountability.
  • Monitor participant responses to study protocols and communicate relevant findings to the healthcare team, reporting any adverse events to the PI as necessary.
  • Coordinate and participate in monitoring and regulatory visits, ensuring timely responses to inquiries and corrective action plans.
  • Facilitate informed consent procedures, schedule tests and procedures for participants, and conduct essential assessments and specimen collections as outlined in study protocols.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a Healthcare, Science, or Clinical Research-related field is required.
  • Certification as a research professional is expected within two years of employment.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations within the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain detailed records for clinical trials and research projects.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with medical staff, physicians, and representatives from various organizations.
  • Must be able to commute as needed.
  • Applicants should either reside in or be open to relocating to the metropolitan area.
  • Compliance with vaccination requirements is mandatory.
