Role Overview

As an Agronomy Field Testing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in meeting or surpassing established sales targets within your region by empowering the sales team to effectively position the comprehensive Bayer portfolio.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement field-scale testing programs, including trials for commercial Bayer seed products and innovative product launches.
  • Collaborate with seed dealers and growers to establish trials, gather necessary data, and manage trial maintenance and harvest.
  • Provide technical support and training to seed dealers and the Bayer sales team.
  • Work alongside the sales team to fulfill local business objectives through expert consultation and training.
  • Develop and execute effective communication and training strategies with seed dealers.
  • Deliver technical information regarding seed, trait, and chemistry products.
  • Create an annual Agronomy Business Plan to align with the Sales Team, outlining strategies and prioritized activities to achieve business goals.
  • Engage actively in local portfolio management and future forecasting.
  • Assume leadership roles within the Sales Team and/or Agronomy Team projects.
  • Adhere to Bayer's safety and vehicle safety policies.
  • Ensure responsible product stewardship and adherence to local territory use recommendations.
  • Be prepared to drive a significant number of business miles annually, which may include operating a pooled vehicle.
  • Position may require compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations, including potential CDL requirements for transporting products or equipment safely.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in agronomy, sales, field development, or research and development roles, or a Master's degree with at least four years of relevant experience, or a Ph.D. with a minimum of three years of experience in similar roles.
  • Must meet company guidelines for driver risk screening.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a DOT Driver medical card by successfully completing a DOT physical.
